Forum finances

Post by Rob Reznik » Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:56 am

I'm sure you are all aware that this website costs money to run - in fact just short of £200 p.a. Initially I funded it for the first few years and then with contributions from members.

There have been very few contributions over the last few years and the account is now empty.

Unless we receive help the website will close at the end of July when the annual payment is due - it's as simple as that.

The forum is owned by the members so it's up to you to do something about this situation.

Thanks for the update Rob. I'm in the process of looking around for a cheaper host with the required bandwidth/storage provisions before the renewal in July. I think the code is fairly stable now so it should just be a case of backing it all up and resurrecting it elsewhere, then all the domain name shenanigans to make the internet point to the right place.

In fact, scrap that! I’ve managed to do it. If it wasn’t for this forum we wouldn’t have our truck now 👍

A donation done! If it wasn´t for this forum I wouldn´t be the owner of a Gaz66, mmmm do I say thank you mmmm? It has to be a yes. I have done approx 8000km in mine in a smidge under 2 years of ownership (and it still makes me smile). It is having a revamp in the back, new front seats, sound proofing getting it ready for..............

Have you done anything with the exterior?
Yours had a big roof rack and an extended bumper didn’t it?
