Post by texas pete » Tue Jan 24, 2017 2:53 pm

Hi All,
A friend of mine is in need of operating advice on the OT-64.
Would anyone who has/had one or knows how to operate one mind if I put him contact with you?
Many Thanks

Lol, no it's not

Thanks Gustav, I'll pass those links on

He seems to be having difficulty getting the vehicle into forward drive. Reverse is OK. Is the switch over pneumatic? And I'm sure the gearbox is a pre-select

Ahh if it's like the tatra, which is what I believe its based on then the gear selector has a pneumatic booster, on the 813 there is also a pre selector which alters gear ratios automatically once the clutch has been pressed, if it is the same then I do have a manual that might help. However it sounds like might have an additional feature such as a shuttle of some sort which would allow you to flick from forward to reverse without needing to actually change gear, if it has this feature it would most likely be electro-pneumatically actuated, might be something to check for as if it were faulty it could give you the problem you described.

if my memory serves to engage reverse ,there is a knob behind the gear lever that was lifted up and reverse was engaged ,to engage forward gear lift the knob again and it lifts out ,the forward gears are 5 sequential fairly close together ,if your mate want to PM me or call thats fine

Does anyone have a link to OT-64 manuals they can share please? The BRDM2 site above which used host them doesn't appear to be active anymore :(
Or even if anyone can share any of their manuals, we'd really appreciate it please.
