Good afternoon everyone,

I have just bought a 1990 UAZ 452 which is in need of attention. At the moment it doesn't run as it needs the head gasket replacing.

I will probably be asking lots of questions of you guys, like where to get a workshop manual and best place for spares in general and the engine gaskets in particular.

Here is a picture of the van when I picked it up on Saturday.

Cheers, Steve

I saw a loaf with that same beer logo outside a bar in Nurnberg 5 or 6 years ago, does it have a bottle opener and a stein holder?

No Stein holder or bottle opener. It did used to be a mobile bar though.

Lovely "Buhanka" which means loaf of bread in Russian. Are you going to keep it as a bar?

Welcome to the group .

There are some good sellers on EBay for all your UAZ needs and also www.Russianspares.com and Tarmot ,I have used all since I bought my UAZ 469 last year for mostly rubber seals and small parts .

No not keeping it as a bar. Just using it as a van come part time camper/surf wagon once I get it running.

Thanks for that Dan, I need an engine gasket set but not sure which one I need? There are a few listed on ebay for the 452. ZMZ 402 , UMZ 401 & UMZ 417. Hopefully it will make sense when I find the engine number. The logbook lists the engine as a 2.4 petrol and the van is registered as a 1990 model.
