Return of the 452
My "old" 452 is now on its way back to me. It has been dropped off at the hauliers and will probably be delivered at the barn next week. Unfortunately I will only be back in the UK after 18/11 and I have seen my family very little this year so work on the 452 will not commence until the new year. All it needs for a MOT is new UK headlights, the brake light switch replaced and the reverse light checked. Tony replaced all brake cylinders and brake lines plus had the tanks cleaned out.
I have a brand new Weber "Lawn Mower" carb that I want to fit but no rush there. I also have a Megajolt kit for it. The nice thing about the Megajolt is that you can leave the existing ignition bits in place as backup.

Was quite impressed driving Robins 452 - would make a decent overland Camper with a diesel engine fitted.

Re: Return of the 452
As you know my first trip in it was quite a long one and I found it nice to drive and not too uncomfortable. It would be nice to get an Andoria diesel for it but it would require a trip to Poland and I don't have time for that. I have not tried it off-road but if it is comparable to the 469 then it should be good.
I'm not sure how much or how little I want to kit it out for camping but I am leaning towards keeping it simple so everything can be easily unloaded. Just need a hammock and a gas cooker really. I'll probably just be going to some of the local rallies and will bring the caravan if the family is coming along.

Just got a call from the haulier. The loaf will be delivered today!
I'm flying to the UK Friday morning and will go up to the barn Saturday to give the loaf a hug. Sunday I'm taking the newly purchased Rav4 back to Germany. On the way to the tunnel I will make a stop in Sittingbourne to see a Yamaha FJ1200 that I hope to buy. A very exciting weekend

I would NEVER trike a bike. Trikes are an abomination.

would only concider one myself if 2 wheels at front and one behind-but never in the reverse
Re: Return of the 452
You have a point there Hamish. I'd like one of those Velorex 3-wheelers.
Re: Return of the 452
always fancied a triking myself-had a play in one about 5 years ago and was smitten amazing fun drifting them on wet roads-but model i drove had no reverse which was a pain but is available, just dependant on what you want/can afford

Re: Return of the 452
I will be hoping for a 452(Andoria) in my Christmas stocking one year, so I have looked at almost all of the you tube vids of them, and from what I can see, it is all down to tyres and technique, if you have the right tyres you can go where the 469 goes, but so many Russians seem to run them on road slicks and hope that they will do amazing things?? but it leaves them looking wanting? So I suspect it is as good off road as the 469 but you have to have those good tyres.
