Thanks for that. I read some Russian articles and looks like it is for ecologic - to collect fuel vapor.
Will install the carb next week and I'm curious about fuel consumption. Now (with K126) is about 20l/100km - 14 mpg.

Like a fuel return? I wondered if it was where ethanol could be injected for those cold morning starts?

No, this is something different. Every modern car got "Fuel vapor absorber", so this is firs step to have "green" UAZ.

I've installed K131, fit new nozzles, adjusted it and finaly my car running fine without "holes" during acceleration.
I hope the fuel consumption will be less as well.

During Soviet time K131A with small window (for observing fuel level in the carb) was the best carb for GAZ/UAZ engine. Originally worked out for military but it was not made for mass production. Later, in the end of 1980`s they started to make K131 which was without window and is still in production.

Could you please check with your cabs for throttle shaft clearance (play)?
Do you have any shaft movements when the throttle is open (I've got about an a millimeter, is solid when closed), the idle are setup by bypass screw.

The question is because when the engine has almost normal temperature I've got very rich fuel mixture (black fumes from the exhaust), Is OK when engine is hot and cold; it could be a problem but I don't want spend GBP120 for new carb if this is not an issue.

BTW, my brother told me that possible this is problem with first or second Lambda sensor, but I cannot check it because OBD2 socket is hidden very well in my car :D

I've never been able to get mine to idle properly.
I play with it, clean it, change the springs and adjust idle screws.
usually it stalls when stopping or slowing, sometimes it idles at 4000rpm.
I get black smoke sometimes when its cold and warming up and the choke is on.
It starts easy, drives smooth and i get pretty good mpg, but i cant get the idle right.

What kinds of choke linkage do you have? I used a cable from a KIA to work mine, i dont know what they are supposed to have.

I have the K131. on mine

but i have seen a 2 barrel carburettor on a UAZ, i dont know what kind it was, but i have enough trouble getting a one barrel to work properly, i didnt want to fiddle with 2.

Twin carb is K151 (from Volga) and you need a special inlet manifold.
Choke cable is OK - the tip is to have 2mm gap between knob and dashboard when the choke is fully disengaged.

Sorry to bump a (very) old thread.

About to register my 1983 452 so trying to get it through MOT.
Only item it’s currently failing on is emissions.
HC: 750ppm < 1200ppm limit 😀
CO: 9.95% > 4.5% limit 😭

Mostly convinced it’s just the fuel/air mix running rich. Timing seems to be as good as I can get it.
N.B. I have electronic ignition fitted and a brand new K131 carb.

Am I right in thinking yellow (left) is idle screw and blue (right) is fuel-air mix?

Thanks,
Matt
