HELP TYRES!

Post by Phil23 » Tue Nov 10, 2020 1:47 pm

HI Guys, So I didn't realise that NOT fitting second hand tyres was now a thing!!!!.... I want to change my road tyres that my Zil 131 came with for off road treads. I found some Michellin XML in the Netherlands from a large supplier with 80% wear and 95% wear. Since I need 7 I wanted to swap them out for seconds and then buy new as and when I need new ones. So imagine my surprise when NO ONE I have spoken to will fit second hand tyres. Anyone got any ideas, links, friendly guy in a shed? etc. Thanks in advance Phil

Never had an issue with firms fitting second hand except quick-fit and ats...find a small local firm, preferably that does plant/farm...they seem to be the most obliging

If they're split rims you could maybe do your own. Admittedly it can be hard getting the old ones off if rusted on. It'll get you fit! There are plenty of youtube videos of tricks to use.

I've got Michellin XML 's and I am going to do 5 of them myself. Unless I can find someone locally that will fit them. I'm in Kent and still not found ANYONE to fit second hand tyres to split ring rims.
