for anyone who thought I was being a 'wussy' loading it on with a winch - I was having a constant problem driving it on - it kept trying to dive off the bed to the right no matter how straight or what angle I approached - thought it was due to the lack of a rear torsion bar when I bought it (did the same then) but a new one fitted didnt seem to help - although its now in Australia I'm still confused to why it kept doing it? - tyre pressures all the same and a solid chassis which looked straight - no suspension on middle two sets of wheels if anyone has a clue? Also film makes it look tall and narrow when in fact its 2.8m wide - you can hear both engines running which I needed to steer it.

After lots of late nights finally got the Zil ready to display some stoves at a local agricultural show (Emley show)
Still need to get flues in so we can have some working stoves

With not a lot more effort you can give the Gaz Sauna boys a run for their money
Really impressive conversion - I hope your customers were impressed.

Greetings from Austria. Current small problems count: Gearshift lever broke off (welded on the road), injection pump drive broke (made new one from wood, bolts and glue), and exhaust damper rusted through (sounds awesome, but welded back because we need the exhaust brake functioning), one tire shredded but still usable (waiting for it to completely fail before replacing).

Autumn is the time for transporting firewood. With the Land Rover requiring some chassis welding the Uaz kindly offered to do the honours in return for a Nato hitch.
Narrow track Sankey plus Uaz makes for difficult reversing when you can't see the trailer until it is pointing the wrong way. Will fit some spring loaded 'buds' for the trailer in due course

I wish I could have taken the 452 to the Faroe Islands. I could stash a lot of sheep in the back of that.....

Covers off for some tinkering:
Measured up the TGB in preparation for mounting the GPMG swivel on the roof. Discovered it has an aerial mount, too.
UAZ now has new fuel filter, re-built coarse fuel filter, and a re-built lift pump. The carburettor is still in pieces but should go on soon. It was full of oily gunge but somehow functioned. Still waiting to hear back from Todor for the next care package.
Funny to think there used to be a Zil squeezed in there.
Best wishes, Colin
