So I've been experimenting with 3D printing over the last year for some replacement parts that I'm in need of but unable to obtain originals.
Specifically for me it was the fan couplings in my BRDM2 and after discovering that the original part is made using TPU, I figured to use FilaFlex40 filament (which is TPU based) to print up some replacements. Additionally I needed to print the washer inserts for the couplings, for which I used carbon fiber nylon as its temperature resistant up to 170°C and tough enough to handle being tightened up.
Since fitting the 3D printed parts I've done approximately 200 miles and they are still fine!
I'm so pleased to have discovered 3D printing replacement rubber parts and have even started doing new ball joints covers.
Has anyone else been 3D printing replacement vehicle parts??

Re: 3D printing TPU rubber parts
That looks very useful as you say, perished rubber seems to be everywhere on our trucks after a certain time
My track rod ends are in perfect condition but it's just the rubbers that a shot, I'll have a look at getting a reel of this
