Hop Farm Show

Post by aardvark64 » Mon May 23, 2016 7:08 pm

Seems that Hop Farm is trying to set up a "Military World Show", on the old War and Peace site, Aug.13-14th. See this link:

Hmm that's very interesting. I do not know the history but something smells very fishy to me. War and Peace is a massive event. I guess the Hop farm wanted more money and no think that starting their own show they can take the money for themselves. Just guessing but it does seem very odd

I think I will attend.
We have a lot of good memories from hop farm. The atmosphere was always friendly and we felt welcome.
Since moving to Folkestone W&P started to be too commercialised. The staff being very unfriendly and busy telling everyone what they can't do. Of course there has to be some sort of order, but at the same time I don't like to feel like unwanted intruder.
I always attend because of great people that come to the show and fun we have, but this is not an excuse for bad mannered staff.
At hop farm we can be on site from midday on Thursday until Monday morning (4 nights) if anyone wants to stay a bit longer.
Very tempting

Their mission statements

Military World Show is brought to you by what was the former ground crew at another military & air show in Kent. We are all enthusiasts in the in the Hobby and have been collecting vehicles, reenacting and attending shows for a number of years.

We felt that the feeling within the Military reenactment & vehicle communities was to return to the spiritual home of the hobby, the hop farm. So, in 2016 after all resigning from the former air show we set up Military World Show at the Hop Farm Family Park.

We support all Military Vehicle clubs and believe that there is space for everyone to attend. We intend to create a family style orientated event where everyone is welcome regardless of what you collect. By attending the show you will find a warm greeting from people that you already know and have seen for years.

Space for the 2016 show is limited, as we want to keep the event manageable. So, early booking is essential.

The trapper group of friends are booked in. Its like going home

Plenty of places at hop farm to hide away for a couple of days until show starts. Plus trade stands have got to set up as well dont reckon that we be a problem.

I just booked myself myself in.
Hopefully it will feel as good as the old war&peace.
