Re: Another one bites the dust (but hopefully not this forum)
I had the same type of dream with a Gaz-66 on LPG!
Plenty of room inside and big enough/small enough and very capable off road

Re: Another one bites the dust (but hopefully not this forum)
Hi, Welcome to the forum Ural 4320 is an interesting choice for your nomad vehicle, how much space do you need in the back? There is a post in the camper section comparing the internal space inside some of the popular soviet era Kung back boxes, this could be useful to see if you need a big brute li...

That looks very useful as you say, perished rubber seems to be everywhere on our trucks after a certain time
My track rod ends are in perfect condition but it's just the rubbers that a shot, I'll have a look at getting a reel of this

Re: 13.00 18 tyre
Aspect wheels made me a set of 5 11x20 rims with Gaz-66 centres when we had exhausted every avenue to get any 18" tyres quite some time ago. It was quite a spendy exercise at the time. We literally tried everything to get K-70s or Stomils and all we could find were so-called "new" old stock which ha...

Gaz-66 engine. ZMZ 4.2 V8. Free to good home
As I have gone over to the dark side with the Cummins diesel the spare V8 core unit I have is kind of surplus to requirements. This is parts complete but not a running engine. It is a core unit which would be useful to someone building a new engine from scratch as I did in 2016 I don't want to scrap...

Re: Travelling Tavern Concept
Yes, in September 2020. Amidst all the bullsh*t rules that they themselves ignored. Were only "allowed" 30 people X( at the reception which included the photographer We had a great day but it wasn't what we wanted. Originally we wanted a cast of thousands including all you truck people in a field wi...

Totally mad but I love it
Another option would be setting it up as an Airbnb, I would definitely have booked that up when we were looking for a different night away after getting married. Plus then you haven't got to keep moving it far. Sure Charles could be talked into that after a few beers!

Gaz-66 trip to Western Isles
Just got back from a two week trip up to the Western Isles of Scotland in the Gaz Unlike pre Cummins engined trips there was very little in the way of issues with the truck, a little loss of water from an ill fitting radiator cap which showed up on the A82 near Loch Lomond and what sounded like a ho...

15km trail of destruction
Don't want to take sides or start a debate but for truck watchers this horrible war is providing an interesting insight into what kit is still being used
This convoy definitely shows some much more elderly vehicles

Re: GAZ 66 parts for sale
Raking up an old post, did you sell the generator Dougie? It's actually the control unit I'm after, it was the one out of mine that I sold to Andy who you bought your truck from
I still have the generator itself and fancy cobbling it back together again
Cheers,
Colin
