Re: Gaz Tyres
"Postage: £266.00" :-o Makes it quite expensive if you only wanted one Andy That must be about the pallet rate from Poland/Russia/Bulgaria. It was about what I paid to get 6 tyres over before It does say the same postage for 1 - 4 tyres, so he could be shipping them direct from that region. Andy

I'll dig them out from the shed and see exactly what I have.
If there is any bit required that is fixed to the truck then I might not have that bit!

Gaz 66 front of box filtration parts
When I sold my Gaz in May there were a few bits the new owner didn't want. These are basically the big chunks of filtration stuff that fit to the front of the box. The owner before me took them all off when he painted the truck and never refitted (or repainted) them. I didn't want them on the truck ...

I hope you haven't got a dog!Eastblock wrote:A wicker man wouldn't stand a chance - much too windy. There are no trees on the Faroes for that reason.
I have family in the Shetlands with a dog and the poor thing goes nuts when they come home "investigating" all the trees!

What are the tyres on yours Andy? They're not Russian K70's, are they the Polish Stomil Prostor? Don't remember! Don't think they were stomil, I think they were the more aggressive and less economical ones. New owner had the complete spare set of wheels FOC (and whinged that one appears to have a l...

Re: Gaz 66 - She's got to go!
Just FYI my Gaz went on to it's new owner earlier this month.
He might be along here in due course, but you never know!
Thanks for all the help and moral support over the last four years, I'll probably still be checking in from time to time for the banter!
Cheers,
Andy

If its electric lift pump, get him to swap tanks. Ill 2nd EB pick ups get blocked, so try other tank. Only one tank is connected and one electric pump - I intended to put LPG the other side. Thanks for the thought so far guys! It'll give me something to suggest to him in the morning. Cheers, Andy

Re: Oh dear - help required please!
Get him to check fuel float bowl level, its a start. OK, good thought! IIRC it should be just below 1/2 way up the glass? If it is low, then I guess it is a fuel issue like blockage, leak, faulty pump (Facet electric pump 1 yr old ish) Welcome to the world of Russian trucks, has he registered yet? ...

I sold my Gaz 66, the guy came and picked it up today and is en route home It ran nicely for a couple of hours, then he phoned me to say that it was getting slower and slower. Then it stopped on the M4 :( He phoned me, it seems there's nothing obvious loose / dropped off, temperature is 80' on the g...

Re: Camper thermal insulation guide/thread
The Gaz 66 box is quite well insulated - but the driver's cab is not. Our truck has door cards, headlining and sound deadening mats under the std rubber mats so is probably better than most, but that isn't saying much! This is the chunk cut out of the box when we put some vents in: http://i985.photo...
